Fountain of the Gods
   Standing before you is a massive, elegant fountain, one of the most
magnificent in all the lands.  The stone statue is easily thirty feet tall,
and is carved exquisitely.  Nobody really knows where the fountain came
from or how old it is, but legends tell that some wandering peasants found
the fountain in the middle of a field and built the city of Moldavia around
it - by all accounts it is hundreds of years old.  Cool, clear water issues
forth from the fountain, beckoning you to take a drink.

walkway at night.

   A small open stretch of cobblestone road known as Fountain Lane runs
from the residential section of Moldavia to the center of town.  Most of it
however is encompassed within the park, and is most often used by the

their shops.

   Here the Road of the Great Gods, which transverses the entire city of
Moldavia, comes to an end at a small lane.  It is appropriately named

citizens of Moldavia anyway.

In Front of a Huge Home
   This massive building is obviously the largest house on Citizen Lane,
and probably in the entire city of Moldavia.  One of only a few buildings
in the city reaching above ground level, it stands like an ancient oak at
the end of the road.  Although built at some expense, it doesnt appear
elaborate or decorative like many of the nobles' houses.  A large wooden
sign hangs above the front doors, with a message painted across it in bold
red letters.

   This large room is relatively undecorated for such an expensive
dwelling.  A few paintings hang on the walls, and a large carpeted
staircase leads up to the second floor.  The walls themselves are painted

stands set in the corners hold thick candles to light up the room.

sign hangs above the front doors, with a message painted across it in bold

Foyer in a Huge House
   This large room is relatively undecorated for such an expensive
dwelling.  A few paintings hang on the walls, and a large carpeted
staircase leads up to the second floor.  The walls themselves are painted
bland white with wooden paneling covering the bottom half.  Heavy iron
stands set in the corners hold thick candles to light up the room.

In Front of a Huge Home
   This massive building is obviously the largest house on Citizen Lane,
and probably in the entire city of Moldavia.  One of only a few buildings
in the city reaching above ground level, it stands like an ancient oak at
the end of the road.  Although built at some expense, it doesnt appear
elaborate or decorative like many of the nobles' houses.  A large wooden
sign hangs above the front doors, with a message painted across it in bold
red letters.

   Here the Road of the Great Gods, which transverses the entire city of
Moldavia, comes to an end at a small lane.  It is appropriately named
Citizen Lane by the typically more wealthy merchants and nobles who live
here.  After all, only those with status and wealth are truly considered
citizens of Moldavia anyway.

   The narrow path leading around the park comes to an intersection here
between the fountain and the west gate.  A black iron pole is here,

Fountain of the Gods
   Standing before you is a massive, elegant fountain, one of the most
magnificent in all the lands.  The stone statue is easily thirty feet tall,
and is carved exquisitely.  Nobody really knows where the fountain came
from or how old it is, but legends tell that some wandering peasants found
the fountain in the middle of a field and built the city of Moldavia around
it - by all accounts it is hundreds of years old.  Cool, clear water issues
forth from the fountain, beckoning you to take a drink.

   A small gate hinged on one side leads into and out of the park.  A path
of cobblestones starts here, about three or four feet wide and leads around
the park for those just out for a stroll.  This entrance is often used by
the poor of Moldavia, or those just coming from the market.

   The road here heads westward, toward the mighty, protected ramparts of
Moldavia's southern gate, and eastward toward Fuligan street.  To the north
you see a small, peaceful looking park.  Guards mill about constantly here,
protecting the gates from invaders, and keeping the peace in the slums to
the east.

    The bustling city spreads out before you to the north.  Here is the
place where just about anything (or anyone) can be bought and sold if 
the price is right.  Being a thouroughfare for many peoples from around
the land, the city guards and most of the townspeople are used to and 
tolerant of all races.  It would be wise, however, to try to stay out of
trouble, especially with the merchants, who are the real citizens under
the protection of the guard.

Moldavia City South Gate
   From the southern fields and forests, you arrive at a fortified double
gate.  A set of two heavy iron doors are mounted on solid square columns of
glossy black stone, standing proudly to either side of the incoming road.
A black marble lion's head adorns the top of each column, snarling angrily
at would-be intruders.  The slightly arching black top of the doorframe
holds a series of waving green flags, the official color of the Moldaiva
scity-state.  Extending far to the east and west from this imposing gate,
the black stone of the city wall divides the urban streets from the
southern wilderness.

earthen floor covered in dead leaves and small plants.  Certainly nothing

The Old Wooden Bridge
   The forest road stops briefly at this ancient looking wooden bridge,
which spans across a wide but shallow forest stream.  The stream could be
easily walked across, but the bridge just helps make travelling both drier
and safer.  The bridge itself arches slightly as it passes from one side of
the stream to the other, with wooden handrails on either side.  You can
hear the water trickle and bubble over the rocks as it passes underneath
wthe bridge.  All seems calm and serene.

Dark clouds overhead block out the sun, and a thick mist impairs your
vision.  The sound of clanging armor and ghastly moans echo through the

   Past the large iron gates that guard the entrance to the park, a calm,
cobblestone path winds toward the south, through grassy areas and groves of
trees.  This park is the common meeting grounds of the people of Moldavia,
a place to relax and get away from the pressures of the city.

   The land sloping upward levels out gradually here to make a small semi
flat area, before rising again eastward toward the top of lonely hill.

   At the crest of this gentle hill stands a monument which closely
resembles a large tombstone.  From here, a good view of the entire park can
be found, from the children climbing the trees and in the sandboxes, to the
loud cheering in the games area, all the way to Salubri Pond, far to the
southwest.
